Barristers : Volunteering Opportunities with Advocate
Advocate, the Bar’s national pro bono charity, provides free legal assistance to those who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay.
Advocate matches members of the public who need free legal help with volunteer barristers who are willing to offer their time and expertise pro bono.
Thanks to the support of dedicated volunteers and generous donors, the charity helps hundreds of people nationwide with complex legal problems every year.
- Barristers from their second six onwards can sign up to browse cases from across all areas of law and in all courts and tribunals, or work with our partner duty schemes. It is your decision what to take on and when.
- Junior barristers can be mentored by Senior barristers through Collaborate, our case-based mentoring scheme, to enhance their skills and expand their practice.
