Bristol One City Living Rent Commission – private landlord rent survey
Received by BLS - please share across your networks - deadline 13th November
Dear City Partners,
We are getting in touch on behalf of Councillor Tom Renhard, Cabinet Member for Housing Delivery and Homes regarding the One City Living Rent Commission which is being chaired by Bristol City Council in partnership with the University of Bristol.
Following the commitment in the Mayor’s 2021 manifesto promise to make Bristol a “A Living Rents City: Campaign for the power to introduce rent controls to make Bristol an affordable living city”. Bristol City Council and the City Office have formed a One City Living Rent Commission to explore what could make Bristol an affordable living rent city and what powers we could be asking to be delegated from UK Government to enable us to achieve this.
We are getting in contact with the Commission’s next steps, and with an ask of our City Partners. The One City Living Rent Team has created an online survey investigating the experiences of people renting from a private landlord in Bristol and the issues they are facing. This survey asks renters to share information about their experience of renting in Bristol.
We would be grateful if you could share the above survey with your networks so that the research team can receive rich data that reflects a variety of experiences with the Private Rented Sector
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions about the above.
