George Atkinson
Bristol Law Society is saddened to learn of the death of George Atkinson who was formerly President of Bristol Law Society in 1971/72.
George Atkinson was also formerly Senior Partner of Wansbroughs, the firm he joined after World War II, having done his articles elsewhere. He became a Partner in the firm in 1950 and practised in the Commercial Department.
After being President of BLS, George became President of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, Shipping and Industry. In 1979, George Atkinson succeeded Stanley Collett as senior Partner of Wansbroughs before stepping down in 1981. He retired from the firm in 1982.
George Atkinson died on Sunday12th January 2014. His wife, Dorothy, also died on the same day.
