Get involved with The Law Society Research Project – Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)

  • Posted on

The Law Society, in partnership with the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Access to Justice Foundation, is embarking on a research project on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR).

The Regulator’s Pioneer Fund is a multi-year project to create a UK regulatory environment that encourages business innovation and growth, particularly through new technology. For this year’s project the research will explore the risks and opportunities of ODR.

To help inform this work, we would like to interview members who work in Housing, Family, Social Welfare, or Employment law about their knowledge of and experience using ODR platforms.

The interviews will take place throughout early August. All interviews will take place online and should last approximately 60 minutes. Prior to the interviews taking place, we will get in touch via telephone with participants to run through the agenda and the process of the interview. These sessions will be facilitated by an external research agency with a member of Law Society staff on hand to assist.

This is an important opportunity to use the first-hand experience and insights of our members to influence the future direction of travel of ODR, the role solicitors play in protecting clients’ interests, and ensuring genuine access to justice.

If members  would be interested in taking part, they can get in touch with

Beth Quinn , Member Engagement Manager,  Beth Quinn  Beth.Quinn@lawsociety.org.uk by close of play Thursday 25 July.
