Maxine qualified in 2004 and has experience in advising and representing people accused of criminal offences from driving matters to serious allegations, including sexual offences, fraud and murder.

She will be working in Wards’ Bristol office alongside Wards Partner Michael Gupwell, who is also highly experienced in criminal defence cases.

Commenting, Maxine said: “I am delighted to be joining Wards, and I am looking forward to working within a multi-disciplinary practice, which is very client focused.”

Wards’ Head of Disputes Elizabeth Fry said Maxine’s appointment marked the ongoing development and expansion of the firm’s criminal defence practice. “We’re certain that the breadth of Maxine’s experience will considerably enhance our offer, enabling us to continue delivering excellent quality legal advice. Three things to say about my experience of working with Bristol Law Society. Their central team, council members and general hangers-on are just about the nicest, most generous group of people working in the legal sector today.
