National Audit Office (NAO) report on progress of court reform
The Law Society are pleased to see the views and experiences of our members reflected in the National Audit Office (NAO) report on progress of court reform which was published yesterday Progress on the courts and tribunals reform programme.
As part of the NAO's research, TLS members took part in focus groups covering criminal, civil and family jurisdictions.
The report reflects concerns about the timescales the government has set itself and that hasty reforms are increasing the burden on courts which are already under pressure to reduce a significant backlog of cases.
