New Partner Joins VWV’s Corporate Team
Award-winning law firm VWV is delighted to welcome Sian Champkin as a Partner in its Corporate team.
Arriving from Knights plc after 15 years, Sian is an experienced corporate lawyer with an education sector specialism.
She has extensive expertise in corporate transactions including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, entrepreneurial and institutional investments and management buy-outs/buy-ins. Sian also undertakes corporate restructuring/reorganisations and general corporate work such as shareholders' agreements, articles of association and changes to share capital.
Sian's client base is broad and varied, with instructions coming from an extensive range of clients including regularly advising on multi-million pound transactions for off-shore entities, SMEs, owner managed businesses and AIM listed clients. Sian also advises a number of education clients on corporate and governance matters including mergers, and has considerable corporate experience within the education and charities sectors.
Sian is also a governor of two notable independent schools - aiding her ability to understand the issues affecting educational institutions and charities.
Commenting on joining the firm, Sian said:
"It's great to join the VWV family. I hope to broaden and deepen the firm's client base - working with my own client relationships but also exploring new opportunities, in particular around the investment in and acquisition of schools by commercial entities."
Sian loves spending time with friends and her young family together with travelling, when possible. She was a keen equestrian in a former life, and still takes an active interest in the sport.
VWV's Corporate team operates nationally across its London, Bristol, Watford and Birmingham offices. The team focuses on deals in the mid-market typically with a value of between £1m and £25m, but regularly advises on much larger deals.
Simon Heald, VWV Managing Partner commented:
"We are delighted to welcome Sian. We are convinced that her client base and extensive experience will complement VWV's recognised expertise in the corporate and education sector.
Sian brings a depth and breadth of experience to the team with a commercial approach to 'getting the deal done'."
