Obituary of John Westcott MBE, Past President

It is with sadness that we advise John Westcott MBE, died peacefully at home on 21 April.

Mr Westcott worked as a solicitor at Veale Wasbrough in Bristol, specialising in family law. He was instrumental in setting up Bristol Family Mediation and was also active in youth work, appointed MBE for his services in 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on 11 May at St Dunstan’s Baltonsborough, Nr Glastonbury, Somerset after a private family cremation.

We understand the family are planning a celebration of Mr Westcott’s life at a later date in Bristol and we will let you know details in due course.

Three things to say about my experience of working with Bristol Law Society. Their central team, council members and general hangers-on are just about the nicest, most generous group of people working in the legal sector today.
