Society of Asian Lawyers and South Asian Heritage Month 2020

The UK is celebrating its first South Asian Heritage Month (“SAHM”) from 18 July 2020 to 17 August 2020. SAHM aims to commemorate, mark and celebrate South Asian history and culture, and build an understanding of the diverse heritage that continues to link the UK with South Asia. Covering art and culture, fashion, food, literature, music and history, SAHM has something to offer all tastes and interests.

You can get involved with the month via SAHM’s programme of online events and their social channels. You can also follow on social media, using the hashtag #SouthAsianHeritageMonth on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram & Facebook.

For lawyers, the “Society of Asian Lawyers” represents 2,000 lawyers in the UK. The society aims to, amongst other things, promote and to develop the legal profession within the Asian community in the UK (including South Asian). Their website sets out their agenda, events and notable developments.

BLS provides a valuable role in uniting and promoting the whole of the legal sector across Bristol to benefit both its members and the city. It facilitates collaboration across the sector to ensure that we can all make a difference. Three things to say about my experience of working with Bristol Law Society. Their central team, council members and general hangers-on are just about the nicest, most generous group of people working in the legal sector today.
