A new LinkedIn page for the West of England Legal Early Careers Network (WLECN) has been set-up

Formed in 2022, the group aims to:

- support schools across the region with careers provision
- provide fair, impactful work experience opportunities to school age pupils
- raise aspiration across the sector
- break down barriers and move the dial on social mobility

Our flagship project runs across July each year. In 2023, we facilitated 92 work experience placements for Y10 students accross Bristol and Bath.

It was a huge, collaborative effort to make this happen, with 13 legal employers, 3 universities, 1 Judge and 25 schools working together to make our vision a reality.

Three things to say about my experience of working with Bristol Law Society. Their central team, council members and general hangers-on are just about the nicest, most generous group of people working in the legal sector today. The numerous events, awards, socials and conferences I’ve had the pleasure to attend over the years have been, without exception, top quality and supremely organised.
